About the Role
Seeking a Carpenter to provide on-site support for residential renovation projects - performing tasks such as demolition, debris removal, material handling, installation of finishes like drywall, tile, flooring, and/or windows and doors. You will work alongside other skilled tradesmen to support the completion of projects on time and to high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Demolition and Site Preparation: Remove debris, dismantle structures, and prepare the site for subsequent work.
Material and Equipment Handling: Load, unload, and move materials and tools to and from work areas.
Tool Operation and Maintenance: Operate basic equipment like drills, saws, and other power tools. May also assist with the maintenance and upkeep of tools and equipment.
Measure and Cut: Assist in measuring, marking, and cutting materials, ensuring specifications are met according to project plans and blueprints.
Assisting with Installations: Help with the installation of various components, including drywall, tile, flooring, trim, and other fixtures. Perform miscellaneous tasks such as painting, patching, sanding, or other home improvement duties as needed to help complete the project.
Site Cleanup and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe work environment by removing debris and cleaning up after work is completed.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a secure work environment.
Support for Trades: Assist skilled tradespeople with various project tasks.
Requirements
Experience: Prior experience in remodeling, construction, or home improvement is preferred.
Physical Stamina: Must be able to lift heavy material and work for extended periods. A high degree of manual dexterity and physical ability to perform manual labor is required.
Skills: Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools safely. Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed.
Safety Awareness: Knowledge of basic safety standards and practices on construction sites.
Reliable Transportation: Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from the job site.
